Living in the Midwest is a constant effort to stay active and healthy. It's easy to eat a carb here-and-there because for some reason that ginormous piece of warm bread and butter would keep me warmer, right? Or, that plate of hot dish hits the spot on a brisk winters night. Like everything in life, it's important to think of circumstances as a balance. It's just as important to give as to receive...a balance. Work really hard, but give yourself a break once in a while. Eat healthy and if your friends go out for pizza, eat with them. Give to someone and let yourself be given to. Take time to enjoy the simple things. We live in the country of the free, not everyone has what we do. There is something to be thankful for in that alone.
