BELIEVE day1

Hello friends,

Please press play on the music player. It's located on the top of this page "Oblivian" by the Indians

Currently, I'm spending the week at Rancho La Puerta. Voted the #1 Destination Resort Span in THE WORLD by Travel & Leisure magazine AND Conde Nast Traveler. How did I get here? Good question, I will tell you the short version in one word...faith.

The longer version is I'm a reader of blogs, pray, and research constantly. I was reading a blog Bohemian Kate and saw she was hired at Rancho La Puerta as a blogger. One web-tab led to another and I contacted the ranch to see if they hired for live music. My fiance is a very talented musician and because of his talent and my business expertise, we are here a year later.

Prior to arriving at the Ranch there was a lot of people telling us their fears about a place so wonderful being true. A Resort Spa that invites you to stay for an entire week, everything paid, freedom to enjoy classes led by the most experienced people in the world, four course meals, and employees helping us with anything we need at all times? All for Nick playing his beautiful music for two days(50 minutes per day)? It sounds too good to be true, but the real truth is, we are here in disbelief ourselves.

It made me think...sometimes the only person holding us back from accomplishing our goals in life is not the person interviewing you for a job you didn't get, not the person who tries to stop you, but it's the missing faith in God and faith in yourself that great things can happen. If you push through the hard parts in life, learn, and grow it's amazing what happens next. Good family and friends are amazing cheerleaders too!

I really hope this encourages more people to reach high, serve long, and love hard.

xoxo,

Mandy

PHOTOGRAPHER TIM WALKER

I love writing. What I enjoy most, is that often times I'm just as surprised by the words on the page as the people reading. It can be the same thing as when people have a talent they never knew was in their capability until discovered. It's a fascinating concept to see people who have an ability that comes natural to them. How can one execute a talent with such grace and elegance while others struggle? I would say capability matched with dedication are the pure ingredients to a new formula of imagination.

I've been greatly interested in someone that has followed through with such gifts he had within. His name is Tim Walker, a famous photographer and dreamer. He was born in England in the 1970s and his passion for photography was born from a working at the Conde Nast Library in London. He went on to get a BA Honors degree in photography from Exeter College of Art. Soon after he worked as a freelance photographic assistant, to a full time photographer in New York, and with patience he graced the pages of Vougue. It was only at the mere age of 25 that his career took off and the devotion to his talent grew.

Tim Walker's photos are somewhat of something a person would dream up. A little glimpse of childhood insight. Or, what many claim as an "out of the box thinker." Not all photos are what I would personally choose. However, through his lens there is the realization that sometimes the way we are used to doing things may not always be the only approach. Today, I give you photographer made artist...

Mr. Tim Walker.

IMPRINT

Dear Friends of Clarte,

I just finished watching a really great movie (based from the book "The Fault in Our Stars" by author John Green). If you haven't heard much about it yet, you may hear about it soon..It was one of those movies that you can't stop thinking about because it impacted you so deeply in some way. It plucked at the chord's of the heart and the explanation will never do it justice.

I'm not going to say much of what the movie is about because I really want to encourage you to watch it in theaters or buy the book. But, I will say that it made me think about the imprint we leave behind. Some people go through life and take it day by day, whatever happens happens. I'm certainly not that kind of person everyday. I am the person that thinks deeply, lives each step with a thought, and am strongly reaching for God to use me in his own way. Like the movie, I question the intention of an imprint.

The movie implies: "are you the person who wants to leave an imprint on many (a hero, a leader of many, superman/woman) or are you someone that wants to leave a lone, singular, deep imprint on one?"

Think about it.

Don't worry there will be a blog of "fluff" that follows soon...

Happy weekend.

Love you all like xo,
